Rasha’s main area of interest is post traumatic stress disorder and complex post traumatic stress disorder in young people and young adults. They practice from a strength-based, person-centred approach, as every individuals experience is unique to them. They aim to provide a safe space for individuals to express themselves and their needs to be able to assert their therapeutic goals. Rasha counsels
with a strong focus on psycho-education to empower individuals in their understanding of themselves in order to self-actualise. They have been influenced by the “power threat meaning framework”, adventure therapy, neuroplasticity and memory reconsolidation.
Rasha has worked with individuals deemed as at risk or disabled by society. They have an adept understanding of structural oppression, intersectionality and the systemic barriers that can in turn make it difficult to gain access, resources and motivation to seek out and utilise mental health interventions or professionals. In essence, Rasha’s aim is to offer individuals the tools to promote their capacity for self-determination and thus actualise.
