Symbiosis Counselling
Acknowledgement of Country
Symbiosis Counselling acknowledges the unceded sovereignty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, who are the Traditional Owners of the Land, Sky and Waters for over 65000 Years. We acknowledge the rich internal diversity of one of the oldest living civilisations and their ongoing resistance to colonisation, genocide, racism and systemic oppression.
We pay our respects to the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh Language Region on which we work and live. Extending our deepest respect to First Nation Ancestors and Elders.
We are committed to foregrounding indigenous sovereignty, connection to culture, community, knowledge, languages and terms of reference, song lines, stories, traditions and wisdom. In doing so, we challenge, disrupt, and reject racist models of mental health that are complicit in or actively support and promote eugenics, white supremacy and pathologies indigenous ways of being.

Rasha Jones (They/She)
Rasha is a queer, SWANA, complex trauma-and-violence-informed psychotherapist.
They practice with a strength-based, person centred focus, understanding that every individual’s experience is unique and their path to self-actualisation lies in their own self-determination.
Rasha provides a non-judgemental, accounable space for participants to express themselves and assert their needs. As an educator, Rasha utilises consciousness raising to empower clients with a deeper understanding of themselves, in hopes to take control of their lives and create beneficial, long-lasting change.
Rasha is also trained in evidence-based emotional freedom technique (EB-EFT or tapping) which is a somatic modality to assist with memory reconsolidation.
